THE WAY HOME
From the first page this book absolutely draws you in. The authenticity to the couples’ fight and eventual breakup leaves a knot in your stomach and immediately connects you to the female main character. When you meet the MMC, just be ready to be obsessed with your fictional boyfriend.
Throughout the book the character development has you feeling like you know this friend group. You can see how the friendships formed, you understand their histories and if you’re from a small town, you’ll recognize the intricate weaving of all kinds of relationships the FMC and MMC have to navigate.
The pacing is perfect, the thriller aspect keeps you hooked without feeling rushed or overly drawn out. The emotional beats hit just right, and the spice is the best kind of SPICY. Some scenes are so out of pocket and I mean that in the best way.
This is the kind of book that needs to be turned into a TV show. I would die to see the casting and to watch the story unfold over several seasons. I cannot recommend this book enough!!

SUCH AN INTIMATE STORY ABOUT TWO PEOPLE FINDING THEIR WAY BACK TO EACH OTHER WHILE CONFRONTING THE ISSUES THAT TORE THEM APART. THEY MUST CONFRONT THEIR CURRENT SELVES AND LEARN HOW TO UNITE TO SOLVE THE GRUESOME CRIMES PLAGUING THEIR SMALL TOWN.
NOT ALL LOVE IS WEAKNESS, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN IT WON'T BREAK YOU.
THE BOOK WAS INTIMATE, RAW, AND PAINFULLY BEAUTIFUL.

THE WAY HOME
I loved everything about this story- the suspense, the spice, the plot and the characters. Already re-read it. The characters and situations are so relatable. Having dealt with loss and trauma, I connected hard with Lia’s character and the range of what she goes through. And Christian is my new baseball-loving book boyfriend. Their reconnection and some of the spicy scenes were blush worthy and had me gasping and kicking my feet in the air. And Floyd- I absolutely loved that the dog is basically one of the main characters ❤️

Allison Kennedy has written another book that was impossible to put down! IT PICKS UP RIGHT WHERE THE WAY HOME LEFT OFF AND WITHOUT ANY SPOILERS, I WILL JUST SAY THAT YOU GET A REALLY GREAT FEEL OF THE ANGUISH THAT LIA, LUCY, CHRISTIAN AND SAM ARE GOING THROUGH. WHILE I WISH IT HAD A FEW MORE SPICY SCENES THE ONES IT HAS ARE HOT HOT HOT!! IT DOES END ON A CLIFFHANGER, SO JUST KNOW YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO WAIT FOR THE THIRD ONE TO COME OUT.

So excited when this finaly came out! I had been waiting since book one's cliffhanger.. only to be met with another. Back to Yearning for the next installment.
but seriously, Lia and christian are such comfortable and steady characters and that makes me feel like i can relax within their dynamic, which allows me to save all my anxiety for all the twists and turns in the rest of the story. OH! And their dynamic with Lucy and Sam- 5 stars on its own.

SUCH A POWERFUL FOLLOW-UP. I WAS COMPLETELY WRAPPED UP IN THIS STORY FROM START TO FINISH. KENNEDY'S VOICE HAS GROWN IN SUCH A POLISHED, CONFIDENT WAY, GIVING THIS BOOK A DEEPER, RICHER FEEL. IT'S HEARTFELT, GRIPPING, AND BEAUTIFULLY DONE. I LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT AND CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT BOOK.

As a proud Disabled US Navy Combat Veteran born and raised in Northeast Ohio, I bring a unique perspective to my storytelling. As I’ve experienced firsthand what trauma and pain can do to a person, I believe I have a particular insight into how these things can impact the entirety of one’s life. It’s not always about the bad because, most of the time, without the bad, the good doesn’t get the chance to shine.
As a lifelong reader, books have always been a form of escapism for me, and I am never without my Kindle. I love getting lost in stories and the reprieve they offer. Fantasies, romances, thrillers, and historical fiction have always been my go-to genres, with the occasional addition of a random non-fiction read every once in a while.
My experiences as an avid traveler and voracious reader enrich my writing, infusing my tales with profound emotion, resilience, and captivating, immersive storytelling. With this debut, I am establishing myself as a new voice in fiction, promising many more exciting stories to come.
My current works in progress include the next two volumes of The Hearts of Holt Saga, a fantasy series that I’ve been formulating, and the one story that I’m most afraid to write: the story of my particular experiences during my military service.
